sewing with human hair

I'm stuck at part one- threading a needle with human hair.

They are 16" lengths of very fine hair. I figured threading multiple strands would provide enough tension that it wouldn't break when I begin to sew with it. I can't manage to handle the lengths not to mention hold them together to get them through the eye. When I finally do- they all seem to separate and I can't hold them to knot them off.

Does anyone have any tips on how to work with such a delicate process?

Don't know what you're trying to sew through, but have you tried sewing single ply? Human hair's pretty strong...

If that's really a no go, the first remedy that occurs to me is to spin it up into a yarn. But that might make it too coarse for what you want to do...

I'm sewing it into a cotton/poly shirt. It's very fine hair and the lengths are not that consistent. Single ply is not an option. I'm using it to do something comparable to needlepoint.

Wax, in embrodery you can use several strands so litte wax sticks them togeter and helps it slide through the eye of the needle...
thread wax for this, dont over work or you will wipe of as you wipe on..

pick hair that is as close to same lengths as possible knot them together at the longest lenghth possible place a drop of glue, clear nail polish or tinest dab of hot glue to bulk the knot to give some strength to the knot..

you will have to be very careful but it should be possible...

be sure needle is sharp, would be a good idea to buy a strawberry, like what you see dangling from a tomato pin cushion.. It cleans and shapens needles, i run mine through as I work if woking with delicate materials..
